The Library of Babel 

The project will be the design and layout of a case-bound handmade book based on the short story, “The Library of Babel,” By Jorge Luis Borges. The initial page design focus will set the tone of the book layout and then proceed to the designing of ephemera supporting the story. I really enjoyed the process of making books. I first printed out the book I designed, and then made the cover of the book by myself. Props include Sketch Book Paper, Bristol Board Scrap, PVA, Xacto Knife, Cotton Mesh, and so on. The color of the book is mainly dark gray and brown. Many of the illustrations in the book are also drawn and photographed by myself.
